YOUNG ABE

The first line I choose from the poem Carpe Diem was, " Let water heal your body. Thinking of bathing as a ritual of new beginnings." I like this line because I feel like it speaks to me that every day is a new day and I should let the water wash my body as I begin my new day. Let everything be new and enjoy every second of it. I feel connected to this because I try to start my day as a new beginning for me every day. I next one I choose was " Greet your ancestors in our native tongue, let them guide you to the places of your origin, an island in the sun, our home now only in our dreams." I like this because it shows how important culture is and you should remember them. I feel connected to it because I try to stay connected to my culture when I am away from it.

what is interesting?  What is interesting about this poem is that, it’s telling you to enjoy every second of life and live it in the way that you want to. what do you think is happening? I think I did well with memorizing my lines and delivering it. I should maybe work on my acting skills more and work on my lines. I noticed that the other performances made eye contact with the audiences, and had a powerful way of delivering their lines. I think an object that represents me is the gym. The gym is where people go to put in  work to achieve the body goal they want. I choose the gym because it shows all the hard work I give to be where I am in Life.
