Act 2 Scene 2 and 3

George tries to kiss Beneatha’s, but she moves away.

George gives Beneatha compliments about her looks and starts to kiss her, but she rebuffs him again, and he jumps up.

Both George and Beneatha argued about why we go to school and read books

Beneatha told Mama George is a fool, and mama told her not to waste her time with fools. 

Beneatha, then Thanks Mama for understanding her this time.

Mrs. Johnson then knocked on their door and; asked Ruth if she was starting to poke out none yet.

Mrs. Johnson told them some colored people were bombed out of their own place by some White folks.

Mrs.Johnson said Beneatha sometimes acts like she doesn’t want to talk to anyone and mama told her its because she’s going to the bathroom.

Mama told Beneatha that she was rude to Ms.Johnson and told Ruth not to talk behind people’s back.

Mrs.Arnold told Ruth that if Walter doesn’t show up to work tomorrow, their getting a new man for the job.

Walter hasn’t been to work in three days and nobody knows why.

Walter told Mama he borrowed Willy Harris’s car and went for a drive.

Mama told Walter she has been wrong to him and that she has done what the rest of the world have been doing to him.

Mama used thirty five hundred dollars of the money to make a down payment for the house and told Walter put three thousand dollars to put in a savings for Beneatha’s medical schooling and put the rest in a checking account with his name Walter on it.

Mama told Walter to be the head of the family 

Walter was happy and told Travis he wanted to talk to him that night. The happiest Walter has ever been.

Walter has all this dream that he’s going to make life good for them. 

Scene 3

Beneatha’s say she’s going to take a long shower when they get to the new house and anyone who tells her to hurry up would get shot at sunrise.

Ruth told Beneatha she went to the movies with Walter and doesn’t remember the last time they went together.

Ruth and Walter were holding hands in the theater and were still holding hands when they came out of it.

Walter didn’t get angry when Beneatha made a comment about their dancing. Calling it old fashioned negros 

There is a white man who came to their house looking for Mama.

Karl Linder is the man looking for Mama and he’s from Clybourne Park Improvement Association.

The people at Clybourne Park wants their community to be in a different way and that doesn’t include having colored people there 


The people wants to buy the house out of the hands of the youngers 

Walter got so angry and kicked him out of the the house 

Walter and Beneath told Mama the opposite thing of what happened when the white guy came to the house 

Walter is back in a good mood and started singing a song 

They got Mama a gift and it was a brand new set of gardening tools 

Travis got Mama a garden hat as a gift 

Willy was suppose to meet BoBo at the train station but never got there and Willy took Walter’s money and run away with it.

Mama got really angry and started hitting Walter and she was crying

Beneatha step in to stop Mama
