When I first listened to “Open Letter” by Lil Wanye, I felt like I knew what he was going through or how he felt when he wrote the song “Open Letter.” The poet Lil Wanye did a great job expressing his feelings ‘emotional’ and thought through the song. Open Letter talks about how people feel about being lonely or left out in the world. This poem shows that when you notice that someone is feeling lonely or left out of something, you should go up to them and make sure they feel welcome and that they are supported.
Feeling lonely or left out of things is the worst thing a person could feel. You feel like nobody cares about you or loves you. The poet talks about how his life, and how he thought that some people were just around him or loved him because of what he had. There's a line in the poem that says, “ Sometimes our loved ones don't love us. They care more about how much I leave them, where'd I leave it? They probably won't miss me 'til they need me.” This is a perfect example of the kind of thoughts you have when you’re feeling left out of things. You sometimes feel like nobody cares about you or wants you to be around them. No one should feel lonely or went out of things because you start to have evil thoughts about yourself and the people around you.
Towards the end of the poem, the poet talks about how his mother was there for him when he felt lonely and left. How his mother told him to focus on the positive things in his life, and that would help him get over the feeling of being lonely and left out. His mother told him to focus on his kids, and that would make him happy. Let his kids be the inspiration and motivation that he needs to keep him going in Life.
I enjoyed reading this poem because of how powerful it was and how much work the poet put in to express his feelings through music. He wanted people to understand how he felt like a person and that it doesn’t feel right to be lonely. I always feel like it’s not easy to express how you feel like a person through something you write. I prefer saying it out because I feel like it’s more powerful that way. The poet did an excellent job of writing what he was feeling, going through, and sharing it with the world. I felt every single word he was saying. I try focusing on the positive things in my life to keep me going.
